SIMPLEX 2000 is a four-part system consisting of:

Crystal Purifier sanitizes using Natural Minerals; No Chlorine/No Bromine.
The cartridge lasts four (4) months. -
Catalyst and Stabilizer automatically control and balance all water chemistry.
The catalyst and stabilizer last up to four (4) months. - Power Plus Ion Optimizer is a booster for the Crystal Purifier, it oxidizes, provides chemistry for clarifying, adds sparkle, and freshens the water.
- Clean spa with Windex and paper towels.
- Fill spa with clean fresh water.
- Do not use soap or detergent products which will cause excessive foaming or bubbles.
- Remove all filters first and then fill through the filter connection holes.
- Do not fill spa by placing the hose directly into the spa shell. This will cause air to be trapped in the pumps.
- If using un-treated well water, treat for iron and copper first before adding SIMPLEX 2000 products!

Step 1 - Catalyst "Start-up stuff"

Get water tested in-store for calcium before proceeding! Water must be heated to 100 degrees! Turn all pumps on then: Add one (1) cup of catalyst powder to the spa water and let mix for ten (10) minutes and then goto Step 2. (NOTE: We don't mean one capful; We mean a full measuring CUP!) |

Lower spa thermostat setting to 80 degrees. The water will not cool down! It's not supposed to cool down, don't panic - spas only heat, they don't cool! We only want the thermostat to be set to 80 Degrees! OLDER SPAS: Turn the Thermostat dial down to 80 degrees or cool. OLDER SPAS: Set switch to Time Clock; pull out 18 Hours of pins. NEW SPAS: Set Digital Temp Display to 80 degrees. It won't cool down! NEW SPAS: Set Filtration to highest "F or FC" setting (See Manual). If you have a separate 24 hour low energy filter pump, it is not necessary to worry about setting filtration cycles at all! Pour all of "Bottle 2" stabilizing liquid into the 100 degree spa water, keep all pumps on for another twenty (20) minutes. Place the cover on the spa, go away and let the stabilizer do its thing for 24 hours. Do not add power plus or insert the purifier cartridge until after 24 hours. After 24 hours clean all filters very thoroughly with a strong garden hose! The water will get cloudy, this is a normal part of the stabilizing process. If a brown residue appears at the water line or on the filter, this is organic silt from your water. Wipe off with surface cleaner and a scrub sponge. If and only if your water has a calcium level higher than 150 ppm: The water will remain cloudy after 24 hours due to remaining excessive calcium. Clean filters very, very thoroughly then add a 2nd bottle of stabilizer, but, if and only if, your initial water tests with a calcium level higher than 150 ppm! Did you test your water before starting? Did you increase filtration to its highest setting? If adding a second bottle of stabilizer - repeat as above without adding catalyst. |

Step 3 - Power Plus "Weekly stuff"

Use the Power Plus Bottle Lid for measuring convenience: A lid full equals approx. two (2) ounces. Do not add power plus until stabilizer has worked 24 hours! Wait 24 hours after adding catalyst and stabilizer then: Add two (2) ounces (lid full) of power plus into the water to activate the system. You must wait at least 1 to 2 hours before using the spa. Each time you use the spa: Add one (1) tablespoon of power plus fifteen (15) minutes before each use as a booster treatment! Once a week Add two (2) ounces (lid full) of power plus to maintain sparkling clear water! Wait 1 to 2 hours before using spa! Prior to any heavy usage (i.e., 4 or more people, or especially lots of kids), add two (2) ounces (lid full) of power plus 1-2 hours prior to use! If water gets cloudy or foamy after heavy usage, stop using the spa, then add two (2) ounces (lid full) of power plus and wait 24 to 48 hours for condition to improve before using the spa again! |

Step 4 - Crystal Purifier

If your spa has more than one filter, select the filter which is used for dedicated spa filtration. Insert the yellow mineral cartridge into the center of the filter. Artesian Spas this will usually be the filter with the grate screen! Catalina Spas lay the purifier cartridge flat in the black plastic tray! Cal Spas insert into the center of filter tube, if your Cal Spa has two filters insert into the filter closest to the front of the spa where the main controls are! Do not allow the cartridge to be left out of the water and then dry out after it has been saturated with water: it will not work again! Insert the cartridge with the stems attached (use stems only if needed) inside the filter, locating the cartridge as high up into the filter as possible. Mark where the bottom of the stem aligns with the bottom inside rim of the filter. Cut the stem so that the cartridge, with the stem attached, will rest snugly on the inside of the filter bottom rim without falling out! Replace crystal purifier every 4 months! You must drain and clean the spa every 4 months no matter what! |

Concentrated Filter Cleaner and Degreaser

Maintain clean filters! Use a strong garden hose to wash out dirt and stains. Then put the filters in your dishwasher on a low speed cycle, NO SOAP! Never try to clean filters by rinsing in a sink, there is not enough pressure and cleaning action! A clogged dirty or calcified filter will reduce pump performance. Always allow filters to dry, then brush out all the parts with a soft floor scrub brush. Purchase a second set of filters to swap with. This will extend the life of your filters and makes cleaning filters fast and more convenient. Deep clean all filters every four (4) months! Cleaning filters every two (2) weeks will rinse away surface contaminants, however, deep down grease and oils will still remain. Place filters in a clean, large bucket or trash can, fill with clean water to totally immerse the filters under water. Use one entire bottle of FILTER CLEANER/DEGREASER. Pour cleaner evenly over filters and brush into pleats. Pour the balance into the water. Mix up the solution and soak filters overnight. RINSE VERY THOROUGHLY WITH A STRONG GARDEN HOSE, making sure all cleaner is rinsed away. Allow filters to dr, brush out the pleats! REPLACE ALL FILTERS EVERY TWO (2) YEARS! |
